Programme – Day 4 – September 13, 2025

As part of the ROHU00353 IHSforROHU project, the Szentes Water Polo Club and Atletico Arad are organizing a five-day international training camp for young athletes. The camp will provide a mix of professional training sessions, team-building activities, cultural experiences, and sports competitions, designed to strengthen cross-border friendships and promote a healthy lifestyle. The 4th Day – September 13, 2025 is the open event for everybody.

Hungarian–Romanian Health Day – Sport & Lifestyle Festival

  2. Széchenyi Liget Park

Organised by the Szentes Water Polo Club (SZVK) and Clubul Sportiv Atletico Arad (CSAA).

The services of the Szentes Spa & Sports Centre are free of charge for all registered guests, but registration is required. Every registered participant can join any of the programmes throughout the day.


Main Schedule

  • 08:00–19:00 – All-day Youth Water Polo Tournament (detailed programme available separately)
  • 09:00 – Opening Ceremony
    • Viktor Vörös, President of Szentes Water Polo Club
    • Zoltán Ferenc Szabó, Mayor of Szentes
  • 09:30 – Morning Wake-up Fitness Session for everyone
    • Led by Peggy Vida, personal trainer and former Hungarian champion player of Szentes VK
  • 10:00–18:00 – Health screening for all age groups
  • 10:00–15:00 – Blood donation and blood pressure check with the local Red Cross team
  • 10:30 – Lecture on the history of the Carpathian Basin
    • Focus on the centuries of coexistence between Hungarian and Romanian people
    • Lecturer: József Kádár, historian
  • 11:00–16:00“Let’s Enjoy Life Through Sport!”
    • Drawing & painting contest for children and adults, led by artist and teacher Éva Kovács
    • Creation of a large, poster-style community artwork
    • Participants are encouraged to express movement, dynamics, and team spirit with safe outdoor techniques (drawing, colouring, collage)
    • All participants in the art contest receive a prize
  • 15:00 – Zumba session with Peggy Vida
  • 16:00–17:00 – Sports History Roundtable
    “Hungarian athletes in Romania and Romanian athletes in Hungary”
    • Speakers: József Kádár, József Kádár Jr., László Vidumansky, Pista Benkő, László Pengő
  • 16:00 – Beach Volleyball demonstration with Melinda Makra
  • 17:00 – Folk Dance Show – “For Our Future” Folk Dance Ensemble
  • 18:00 – Concert by the Szentes City Wind Orchestra
  • 19:00–21:00 – DJ set with music selections

Sport Competitions (10:00–18:00)

All registered participants, both young and old, are invited to join optional competitions:

  • 400 m swimming
  • Water polo shooting contest
  • Water polo legwork contest with belt and resistance band
  • 1000 m ergometer rowing
  • 1600 m running in Széchenyi Park (track)
  • 5 km walking challenge in Széchenyi Park (6 laps of the track)

Additional Notes

  • Dinner will be provided for athletes and coaches.
  • In case of rain, certain events will be relocated to the nearby indoor sports hall.
